Acupressure First Aid for Headaches


You can do this yourself to help with any kind of headache. Try all three to see which one works best for you.

Gall Bladder 20
- Gates of Consciousness
Located bilaterally at the base of the skull in the depression half way between the top of your spine and your ear canal. Feel around in the depression until you find the most tender spot. Using your thumbs, massage the spots on each side or your neck with gently increasing pressure for three to four minutes.

Large Intestine 4 - Joining of the Valleys
Hold your left hand out in front of you with your fingers spread. Joining of the Valleys is located at the base of the “v” formed by your thumb and index finger. Feel around in the area until you find the most tender spot. Massage the your left hand spot with gently increasing pressure for three to four minutes. If your symptoms have not improved, us the same technique to find the point on your right hand and repeat the massage for three to four minutes.

Liver 3 - Supreme Rushing
Supreme rushing is located on the top of both feet in the depression located near where the big toe and second toe form a “v.” Feel around in the area until you find the most tender spot. Massage the spot with gently increasing pressure for three to four minutes. If your symptoms have not improved, us the same technique to find the point on your right foot and repeat the massage for three to four minutes.
